How to export articles
Enable System - J2XML plugin
Select Extensions > Plugin Manager from the drop-down menu on the Back-end of your Joomla! installation.
Type "j2xml" into filter field and click to go.
Check the box to select the System - J2XML plugin and click the Enable button.
Select export options
Select Components > J2XML from the drop-down menu on the back-end of your Joomla! installation.
Click on Options button to open the J2XML Options page.
Set the default parameters for export function.
- Images. Select whether to export images (images will be exported in base64 encode).
- Users. Select whether to export users that relate articles.
- Compress. Select whether the export file will be compressed.
Export articles
Click the Article Manager icon in the Control Panel, or click 'Article Manager' in the 'Content' menu in the Back-end of your Joomla! installation.
Check the boxes to select the articles you want export to.
Click the export button.
Note
You can also export content from Category Manager.

Error messages
- User not imported. An error occurred. Please enter your name.
- An error occurred while exporting the user. User data is inconsistent. Try to export content without images or reduce the number of items to be exported.
- Send button doen't appear.
- The send button is visible if there is at least one website in the J2XML Website Manager.
